Allison Harker, a mezzo-soprano from Vancouver, BC, Canada, has recently become a proud resident of Auckland, New Zealand. Her musical journey began with a Bachelors degree in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia after which she completed  a diploma in vocal performance, mentored by Marisa Gaetanne. An avid performer, Allison's repertoire spans opera, jazz and musical theatre.

 

With a versatile range, Allison has graced many stages, performing in leading roles, supporting parts, and as a chorister across a spectrum of operatic works. Her repertoire includes roles such as Susanna in "The Marriage of Figaro," Papagena in "The Magic Flute," and Esmeralda in "The Bartered Bride," with performances spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. She has been a soloist with notable orchestras, ensembles and theatre companies in Canada including Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival,  The Banff Centre, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Opera NUOVA and Westben Summer Festival.

 

In Europe, Allison has performed with the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy and with the Northern Czech Orchestra in Mozart's historic Estates Theatre in Praha, Czech Republic.

Allison's musicality extends beyond opera; she also works in jazz, musical theatre and theatre.
